It's All About Giving: Be a Christmas In Action Volunteer

Most of us know what a good feeling it is to give a gift. The happy smile, the excitement in the recipient's voice, or the tears in the eyes help us to realize how much it touches those around us when we take the time to share. Sharing doesn't always mean expensive gifts. Some of the most precious gifts are those when the giving of time is involved. Today we're asking you to give of your time to Christmas in Action.

Christmas in Action is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to reach out to members of the community to help with needed home repairs and rehabilitation projects. The work can range from replacing a roof, painting a house, building a wheel chair ramp, staining a deck to cleaning up a yard and planting flowers. Founded in 1992, the organization is made up of area citizens who are about to participate in the group's 17th annual event in the Saline, Milan and surrounding areas. We'd like one of those citizens to be YOU.

The date for this year's event is Saturday, April 26, 2008. The day begins with breakfast at the Saline American Legion for all Saline volunteers and at the Milan Fire Department for workers in Milan. If you haven't already sent in a volunteer form, please come to one of these locations at 8:00am on April 26 and sign up then. It's not a problem if you can't commit your time for the entire day.  One to two hours of your time would be deeply appreciated.
